On July 10, Farmers Fresh joined the Dominican Republic Trade and Investment Road Show in North Carolina, connecting with business leaders and exploring collaboration opportunities to support international growth and stronger supply chains together.
Farmers Fresh joined business leaders and economic development representatives during the Dominican Republic Trade and Investment Road Show in North Carolina.
Throughout the presentations, we gained a closer look at the Dominican Republic’s role as a strategic trade and investment partner in the Caribbean.
Its free trade zones, industrial capabilities and continued growth across the agrifood, manufacturing and technology sectors create a strong foundation for companies seeking closer connections with the U.S. market.
Logistics was one of the most relevant topics for Farmers Fresh. The country’s infrastructure includes:
This level of connectivity provides an attractive platform for developing efficient, diversified and more resilient supply chains between the Dominican Republic and the United States.
Business leaders explored how logistics, free trade zones and regional connectivity can create new opportunities between the Dominican Republic and North Carolina.
The event also highlighted opportunities within the agricultural sector, including products with growing commercial potential such as dragon fruit, avocados and plantains.
Discussions focused on strengthening production, packing and export capabilities for high-value agricultural products entering the U.S. market.
These conversations are closely aligned with Farmers Fresh’s interest in building a solid and diversified sourcing network. Connecting with growers, packers, exporters and logistics partners in emerging markets can help us expand our product offering while supporting more reliable programs for our customers.
A key milestone during the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the NC Chamber and the Dominican Association of Free Trade Zones, ADOZONA.
The agreement reflects a shared interest in strengthening business relationships and expanding trade and investment opportunities between North Carolina and the Dominican Republic.
The Dominican delegation, through ProDominicana, also extended an invitation to learn more about the country’s free trade zones, industrial parks and logistics infrastructure. This opens the door to future conversations, visits and potential collaboration projects.
The NC Chamber and ADOZONA formalized a new agreement to encourage trade, investment and business collaboration between North Carolina and the Dominican Republic.
